Darren J Quigley, 44, passed in his home in San Diego, CA on May 23, 2021. He was a native of Syracuse, New York. He graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School and University of Buffalo. He was predeceased by his mother Pamela A. Quigley and is survived by his father, Jack Quigley; his brother, Graham Quigley (Peg); his nephews, Jacob, Gavin and Owen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He had a passion for life and loved to grab hold of it. He loved to play soccer and did so quite well (as he would tell you). Later in life he became an avid runner. He ran numerous marathons and then decided that wasn’t enough and did several ultra marathons. His love for food was unrivaled, whether it was cooking, frequenting restaurants or absorbing food shows and you tube tutorials. He had a great smile that was surrounded by ever changing facial hair. His magnetic personality drew people to him and anyone that met him, even if briefly, remembered him. He had a sharp wit and a sharper sense of humor. Where he went, good times followed.
There will be a remembrance gathering Saturday May 29 from 10am to 1pm at Beardsley Mitchell Funeral Home at 1818 Sunset Cliffs Blvd in San Diego, CA. There will also be a memorial service in Syracuse, NY at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local foodbank in his name.
