Clifford joined the United States Navy on 02/13/1962. While in the Navy he met Sonja and married her on 11/27/66. They were blessed with two children.
Cliff was known for being a man of steel, speaking what he was thinking, a jokester, and a man who dedicated his life to his family. Cliff loved watching kung fu movies, cartoons, weekly shows, and Hallmark movies from his comfy spot on the couch. Cliff loved it when his wife Sonja cooked Indonesian dishes and loved sneaking snacks like nachos and chips.
Dear Grandpa,
Thank you for everything. Thank you for all the hilarious moments and laughs. Thank you for always being yourself, regardless of the negative world revolving around you. Thank you for loving Grandma and showing the whole family what true love is.
Thank you for always being a simple man and teaching me that the world doesn’t have to be so complicated and stressful. I will miss you deeply and so will Enzo and Alayna. I wish our times could last forever knowing that we could always stop by Grandma’s and know you were kickin back on the couch, watching movies with no worries in sight. I appreciate everything you’ve taught me. I thank you for everything. Till the whole family is back together, I’ll see you next time! I love you, grandpa!
Grandpa being around you was my favorite. You'll be the best supervisor I’ll ever have. Grandpa, you were the best shit-talker. Grandpa, you were our grandfather but you were the closest thing we had to a father. Grandpa, all our memories together will forever be cherished. Grandpa, I'll miss coming over to the house and you sitting on the couch, in your favorite spot, TV on, and changing the channel to an oldies music station. Watching you dance a little in you're spot and sometimes get up, nod your head to the beat, and call this your exercise time. We love you, grandpa!
Cliff is survived by his beautiful wife Sonja, son Michael & daughter-in-law Jill, and grandson Zach. His daughter Michelle, & grandchildren
Andre’, Che’Menn, Tre’Vonn, Ro’Chonn & Ka’Lani. His great-grandchildren MaLiah, DJ, Enzo, Cameron, and Jade. As well as Mrtyle the turtle, Buttercup & Meeko.
In the hearts of those who loved you, you will always be there. As you were you will always be, treasured forever in our memory. We keep in our hearts the love of the past, for there it was planted forever to last. Your presence we miss, your memory we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.
Your wings were ready but our hearts were not.
