Carl Shaffer Morris passed peacefully away in his home on August 9th, 2023. He was born on September 13th, 1934, in Athens Township, Ohio, to parents Glenn E. Morris and Lelia Mae (Petty) Morris. His siblings consisted of brothers Floyd and Paul, and sister Ann.
After graduation from Dennison High School in Ohio, he entered the Navy for four years. Carl left the Navy with the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician Navigation Petty Officer, Second Class. Carl graduated from The Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He continued his education and graduated with a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
Carl worked for the remainder of his career for the Navy with the Department of Defense as an Electronics Engineer. He retired at the end of 1995.
Carl made his way to San Diego, California in the sixties and moved into Sleepy Hollow apartments in Hillcrest, where he met his future wife, Linda Peters, originally from Merced, California. They were married on June 22nd, 1968, at the First Methodist Church, in Mission Valley, San Diego. They bought a house in the San Carlos area, where they continued to live until their passing.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Lelia, his sister, Ann, and his wife, Linda.
He is survived by his son, Christopher (and his husband Joel), his daughter, Tiffany, his grandson Zackary (and his wife Maitland), and great grandson Zackary Junior.
Carl liked to golf and play bridge. He and Linda enjoyed dancing and traveling. They went on many cruises together with friends. They went out almost every night, enjoying partying with friends.
Carl had a good sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories about his past. He and son, Chris, had many discussions around politics, economics, and the news of the day.
After Linda’s passing, Carl liked to hang out with his friends and family. He liked watching game shows at home with daughter Tiffany.
Carl lived an energetic, fulfilling life until the end. He will be greatly missed but will live in our memories
