I am truly sad to hear about Brian's passing.  I had fond memories of him.  One of the most ethical, respectul  and professional people I have ever met.  He always was there for me when I needed help and he was extremely down to earth.  He will always be in my thoughts and left a mark in my life due to his kindness.

Brian was a truly unique person and one of the best bosses I ever worked for.  His calmness, fairness, and dry sense of humor were legendary.  He made so much time for me at work, even when he was incredibly busy. “Boss, you got a minute to give me a quick pep talk?” I would ask when frazzled, and he would find the time.  When traveling to the Seattle for the NMCI project he would always find a way to visit, even if it was just a quick dinner. He sent me flowers when my dog passed away. During my cancer treatment I flew to San Diego to visit a lifelong friend. He made time to pick me up, take me to a park and give me yet another one of his amazing pep talks. Many, many people have Brian stories like these. Since his passing, some work friends and I have talked about how we hear his voice in our heads advising us on important matters. Everyone loved him, and he earned that love.  I am sorry I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye but now in his passing he will join the voice of another great leader and our mutual friend, Diego Garcia. Two Jedi ghosts continuing to dispense wisdom from the beyond to the people who loved them;  continuing to challenge us to be better people.  Sincere gratitude to the family for sharing him with us,  and sympathy on his passing.
