Betty Jane Worm passed on her journey January 15, 2013. She fell asleep peacefully in the morning in San Diego, California. Betty was under Light Bridge Hospice Care. Betty was born July 20, 1926 to William Storandt and Bertha Lege in a little farmhouse in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Her late husband, Dale Arthur Worm, preceded her in death. Dale was the happiest Navy man ever when he won the heart of Betty and married her on October 31, 1950 in San Diego, California. They have two sons, Oscar born in 1951 and Linsey born in 1953. Betty earned her Nursing Certificate in 1948 from the Madison Wisconsin General Hospital School of Nursing. She did her nursing in Cook County General Hospital, UC San Francisco Hospital and San Diego County Hospital. Dale and Betty have been members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Betty will always be remembered for her sweet disposition and her heartwarming smile, which she shared with her family and friends to the very end. Betty loved her children and grandchildren and was so very proud of their achievements. Betty along with Dale was generous to their family, friends, church and other organizations with gifts of support. Betty enjoyed traveling locally, in Europe, to The Holy Land and taking cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal. She enjoyed telling stories about each of her adventures. She did beautiful sewing, knitting and crafts. She will be remembered for her guava jelly, which she made and gave to everyone to enjoy. She sang in the German choir and to almost the end would sing "Edelweiss" when she heard it. She is survived by her son Oscar and Olga Worm, her son Linsey and Natividad Worm, her five grandchildren Lara, Marla, Scott and wife Jennifer, Christopher and Katherine and great grandson Henry. Her sister Ina Mae Storandt and her brother Earl Storandt also survive her. Betty and Dale were very fond of Fang-ming and her two children Jenny and Jeffrey who they helped nurture from infancy. God blessed Betty in many ways and blessed the people whose lives she touched. God gave Betty the grace to live in this world 86 years, 5 months and 26 days. May Our Lord give us the grace to accept her passing as His Holy will.
