Anthony Louis Guidi

.Guidi, Anthony Louis SAN DIEGO -- Anthony "Papa Tony" Louis Guidi passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2014. He was born and raised in San Diego, CA on February 8, 1926 to Italian-American parents Luigi and Mary Guidi. In 1949, Papa Tony married the love of his life, the late Frances Angela Guidi (Giacalone), where they were married for 49 years. He is survived by his four children, Louis Guidi (Antoinette), Maria Unayral (Kevin), Vince Guidi, and Kathy Gerache (Nick), as well as his grandchildren Deanna, Anthony (Trish), John, Marissa, Alyssa (Sal) and three great- grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Louis Guidi and Julio V. Guidi Sr. and predeceased by two brothers Augustino Guidi and Gino Guidi Sr. Papa Tony served in the United States Army, in World War II. After the war, he then joined the family business for over 40 years in the US Tuna Industry and was captain of the Jo Linda. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will be immediately following.
