Ann Marie McMahon

Ann M. McMahon passed away on April 26, 2024 in her home in San Diego, CA. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis McMahon, son, Stephen McMahon, and many grandchildren, Antonio, Aleyna, Analeigh, Abigale, Adrian, Jonas, Catherine, Maximus, Melina, Melayla and Meylani. She was predeceased by her husband, James McMahon and her son, Patrick McMahon.

Ann was born Ana Maria Castillo, in Chicago, IL to Cruz Castillo and Rosario Rosales. In her young life she studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as attended a business prep high school, where she learned the many tools of her trade. Ann worked as a legal secretary until the birth of her children. She then moved to San Diego, California with her children, following the death of her husband, where she bought a home in the community of Mira Mesa. Ann returned to work as a legal secretary in the healthcare field, until her retirement in 2003.

Ann was known as an artist, as she pursued many forms of art through her life. She can be remembered as an active woman who spent many of her days tending to her gardens, painting, sewing, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. Ann was a devoted grandmother, and she saw each one of them as her blessings from God.

Services will be held on Friday May 10th, 2024 at 3pm at Bonita Valley Community Church 4744 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
