Ann N. Mack, age 95, passed away on April 23, 2022 at her daughter Susan’s home in Northbrook, Illinois. She was born on November 24, 1926 in Donora, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Paul and Justina Nagosky.
Ann grew up in Ohio in the Carpatho-Rusyn neighborhood on the south side of Cleveland. She was a member of St. Theodosius Russian Orthodox Cathedral on Starkweather Street. After graduating from Case Western Reserve, Ann worked for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, first in Cleveland and then New York City. It was in New York where she met the love of her life, Joseph W. Mack, and started her family.
Ann married Joe in 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois and was a devoted wife to him and a wonderful mother to their five children. Ann raised her family in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and then retired with Joe to the San Diego area so they could golf year round.
A passionate golfer, Ann was a member of the Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook, Illinois and later the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo (California) where she pursued her love of the sport. She was a skilled and competitive bridge player and an avid gardener.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mack (February 26, 2007) and her daughter Elizabeth Cheval (March 9, 2013) as well as her parents and her six siblings: Paul, Peter, Christine, Mary, William and John. Ann is survived by her children: Joseph (Kerry), Susan, Joan (Ellen) and Michael (Shelley) and her grandchildren: Beau Dimos; Brianne, Bill, Mack and Amara Hans; Logan Mack and Logan’s mother Ruth Mack. And her great grandchildren Liam and Emily Hans.
Funeral services for Ann will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 11am, at The Chapel of the Bells in El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road in the Sorrento Valley neighborhood of San Diego, California. (858) 453-2121
