Allen Smithberger Beddoe

Allen was born on May 4, 1927 in Blakely, Pennsylvania to Allen and Emma Beddoe. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, and served honorably for 27 years, earning the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, Allen earned his MBA at National University in San Diego. He was a long-time member of the East San Diego Masonic Lodge No. 561, serving as past Master, and after several years of devoted service, he was awarded the 33rd Degree.

Allen was a tried and true Padres fan, spending many afternoons and evenings watching Padres games on TV, always hoping the Padres would pull out a win. One of the family’s favorite memories was of celebrating his 70th birthday at the Padres game and having the Loge section sing him Happy Birthday! Dad loved it, and so did we!

Allen taught his children to always do their best, the importance of family, and love of country. He was a true patriot!

Allen was predeceased by his parents, Allen and Emma Beddoe, his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia, in 2008, and his dear son, Michael in 1996. He is survived by his son, Kevin L. Beddoe (Deb) of Carlsbad, and his daughters, Susan Beddoe Delaney (Joseph) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Kathleen Beddoe of San Diego, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
