Rodger was a Senior Psychiatric Technician for most of his forty one years working for the State of California. He came to California in 1963 from Alton, Illinois. He retired in 2004. He loved photography, gardening, was a music collector, and also loved animals, dogs and birds especially peacocks. He loved sports and played baseball as well as coached Little League. He lifted weights in his youth and was a life guard at the YMCA. He loved to travel and road trips was his favorite. Traveling to Europe he was ever adventurous, once saying "Lets go see that mountain that looks like the one at Disneyland!" He was a loving Husband, Friend and Soulmate to his Wife to the end. His friends were deeply important to him throughout his life as well as family. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Although it took most memories he remained a loving and caring man. He will be missed by many.
Rodger is survived by his wife (2nd), Diane Lee Thompson; his son Mike Fowler of San Bernardino, California; and his son Brian Fowler of Palm Desert, California; his sister Karen Giudice of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and his sister Tanya Cotten; his daugher Ann Sarrategui of Folsom, CA.
Rodger was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Fowler of Illinois; his father Harold Fowler and his mother Helen Fowler; his sister Leslie Sanchez; his grandmother Mildred Thompson, and his grandfather Robert Thompson.
4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 1 cousin, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Rodger will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery.
