A tribute to thee incredible woman, our hero, our grandma, our mom, our wife. In high school she was known as a fashionista, a “real pachuca” she would say. Her friends called her Proxy because she would always have her hair freshly bleached.
The same friends she would charge ¢25 to go over to her house and watch tv. Their ¢25 purchase also included popcorn, candy, soda “pop” and colored TV! That was her. Always making everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. She had 12 grandkids and 9 great grandkids. But that couldn’t be less true, because everyone she met, she took in as another grandchild of her own. She would offer to make them tacos and fresh salsa, and ensure that they knew her house was always open to them.
She was too friendly to ever hold a grudge and she never forgot a face. Her smile lit up a room, her humor was unbeatable. She was such a jokester. Her heart was pure and full of nothing but love. She loved the color green, “because that’s the color of money, mija” she would always say. She loved to cook and would happily make any of her grandchildren sopita at anytime of the day, even 3 in the morning when she was half asleep.
She loved turtles, so anytime we see a turtle we get to think of her. Her caring heart was shown in all the relationships she had with with others and in her marriage of 64 years. She showed us what dedication and partnerships was, what’s it means to be a wife. She was a driving force in developing what “family” means. To help those in need, love hard and be present with every person you are connected too.
Grandpa Danny said it best,
“Rest in Peace to The Grand-Lady who was, A force who will be deeply missed.” 💔
