After discovering stage 4 cancer, Dickie lost his 3-week battle and passed away peacefully at his son’s home, with his son, daughter and other family members present on September 13, 2015.
Dickie attended elementary and high school in San Bernardino, California and graduated from San Bernardino High in 1967, where he was known as “Pretty Boy Dickie”. Due to his asthma he was unable to participate in sports but loved them just the same. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and spending time with his family.
In 1969, Dickie met the love of his life, Patricia Malone from Banning California, whom he later married. Honorably and with a whole heart he accepted her daughter, Angela as his own. To this union on October 2, 1972, Dickie received a gift, his son, Norman Isaiah Jackson, III, his pride and joy… only second to Angela. Dickie was extremely proud of and loved both of his children.
In 1996 Dickie married Vanessa Johnson assisting her with raising her 4 children; James, Tadashi, Benjamin and Tammy. This marriage was resolved in 2006.
Dickie was a hard working man, he was employed by Nordskog Electric, building electric cars for 35 years. He later began driving trucks across the United States.
Dickie enjoyed playing dominos, bid wiss, and spades, sit him down and he won’t stop trash talking trying to throw you off your game. He was good and he knew it. Dickie loved the Lakers and the Rams, he was an avid fan of the game and the teams. He enjoyed watching football and basketball and stated on the Saturday before he passed that he wanted to watch football and of all times the Rams won their first opening game day in years, he would have been proud of his team.
Norman was preceded in death by his father Ralph; mother Lorraine; sister Marguerite; wife Patricia; nephews Tony, Jason and Jarrett.
Norman I Jackson II “Dickie”, leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Angela (Lamont); his son Norman Isaiah III “Ike” (Tiffaney); 4 sisters Phyllis (Henry), Caroline (Louis), Lorretta and Joyce; 3 brothers Earl, Ralph “Frankie” (Gail) and Myron; 5 grandchildren Brittney, Christian, Norman Isaiah IV, Amonie and Kayla; 3 aunts Marva, Valerie and Lorraine a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
