Louie had an affinity for noticing when people needed kindness more then judgement. Not the standard amount, but the merciful kind. 

Louie, as we embark on this 3rd anniversary of your death we remember the good conversations and your kind heart. I hope you are still resting in the peace and comforts of heaven. You are truly missed not only by the Ladies Auxiliary but I'm sure you are missed by family and friends. Keep watching over them and us and continue to keep us safe. 

Louie, it has been two years and we still miss your presents each and every Sunday! I hope you are continuing to rest in peace, my brother. 

My friend, and one of the most genuinely appreciative and kind men I have been lucky, (even for a short time), to have gotten to know, even just a little. He was one of the few people genuine enough to be the simplest and most heartfelt way to me. He Always, far as I knew, was loving, patient, gentle, appreciative, understanding,optimistic, and selfless. He never judged me or thought he knew who I was. He made the time for me even when I was a stranger, yet he never made me feel astranged. He  had eyes that would look at people not with disgust, pity, or even confusion, for what he didn't know, understand, or see,....he would eagerly be there to find the truth, and if it was hidden...., well if there was any, he never let on that he ever had doubts about people, let alone me. I watched and heard how he cherished his family no matter the situation, and would rather have little to appreciate, then to have much unappreciated. He was a good man, and the thing that always made the most important, and the biggest impression to me,.... a stranger, was his love that overflowed  from within his heart and came out to all as Kindness. 

Louie, my friend, my short timed- yet dearest of friends,  thank you for being here long enough to show me at least what unselfish, unfettered and untarnished human Kindness looks like. I came to lovingly care whole heartedly for you. A man who from the very moment, literally, that I met you, knew that I not only respected the man you were trying daily, moment by moment, to be, through more then words could portray, but that I did, and ALWAYS will, Love you for the Man that you Were. 
Thank you for your moment here. I, along with many, others, miss you so dearly, and because of that I look forwards to getting to know you better still when my time is done. So I just wanted to say thank you for being Louie Hernandez, 
Man who alters the misconception that Kindness has to be earned. Vaya Con Dios Mi Amigo. 

Louie was a great man who would greet you in the parking lot of the church and escort you to the front door of the church and say have a great service as he shake your hand, and say  I will see you when Mass is over. Louie would always make sure the church classroom was opened when we the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary would have our meetings.  Louie would always ask me how I was doing and what new adventures the Ladies were  up to? I can not recall a time when he did not show his compassion and caring feeling for his family, his friends and church . Louie has touched so many different people is so many ways that his infectious smile will be missed and so will his friendship. I'm blessed to have known Louie and he was a great friend. Louie take your place in heaven and protect your family here on this earth. 

One night at religion class, louie heard a police call someone was in our immediate area, helicopter overhead.  Louie went to all the classrooms to tell us to shut the doors and he closed the gates until it was safe.  He cared about us.  He kept us safe. He was always there.  He was a good man.
