Loren Chiever, 84, of Colton, California, peacefully passed away on December 20, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Loren's vibrant spirit, infectious humor, and welcoming nature left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
Loren was born on November 27, 1940, in Holtville, California, to Chester and Thelma Chiever. From a young age, Loren was instilled with a robust work ethic that would become a defining trait throughout his life. His love for meeting new people complimented his vocation as a meat cutter, where he charmed customers with his friendly demeanor and quick wit.
As a talented race car driver, Loren spent years pursuing his passion on the track. He enriched the racing community with his skill and sportsmanship, making lifelong friends and countless cherished memories along the way. Loren's avid interest in automobiles wasn’t just a profession or a hobby; it was a core part of his identity.
Loren also had a deep affection for dogs, particularly Rottweilers, which he trained, bred, and showed for many years. His dedication and expertise garnered respect and admiration from fellow enthusiasts, contributing to a legacy that will be remembered by many.
Family was at the center of Loren's life, and he was a beloved figure among them. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Chiever; his children, Daryl Jones, Darin Jones, Rick Chiever, and Terry Chiever, who will continue to cherish his memory and uphold his values. Loren’s humor, kindness, and light-heartedness enriched his family’s lives and extended beyond, resonating with all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
While Loren did not hold an official role in community endeavors, his enthusiasm for life and interactions with others spread joy and connection in informal yet powerful ways. He was a man who loved good food, often found in the kitchen cooking and sharing meals with friends and family.
Graveside services to honor Loren's remarkable life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino, California. All those who wish to pay their respects are welcome to join as we celebrate the life of a man who touched so many with his humor, generosity, and heart.
Loren Chiever lives on in the laughter he created, the tracks he raced, and the love he gave to all those fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
