Kathleen Denise Palmer Butler “Kathy” quietly slipped away from those who loved her on Sunday August 27, 2023, at her home and the home of her son and daughter-in-law Craig & Judy Butler.
Kathy was born to Art & Eileen Palmer in Marshall, MN on December 16, 1948. She was the sixth of nine children. Her Dad renovated an old school bus and in 1953, when Kathy was almost 5 years old, Art & Eileen loaded up their seven kids and moved them to San Bernardino, CA.
Kathy attended Holy Rosary Catholic School until the family moved to Rialto, CA. She then attended Rialto schools, until graduating from Eisenhower High School.
Kathy met Fred Butler in 1963 and they became inseparable. They were married and started a family in Fontana. Their home on Hibiscus was full of love and lots of mischief. Together they raised four boys. Fred, Craig, John, and Jeffrey are forever known as the Butler Boys. In 1996, Kathy & Fred were divorced. At this point, she began taking road trips to see her boys and road trips with her sisters and their Misters.
Working in retail for 40 years, she rarely got time off for the Holidays. Once she retired in 2019, she finally was able to enjoy traveling during the holidays to spend them with family. She had so many sister trips planned like to Denver for a Colorado Rockies vs LA Dodgers game and an Alaskan cruise. Sadly, her time here was cut too short.
Kathy loved music from a very young age, especially Elvis. She was an amazing dancer, and her feet just started moving as soon as she heard music.
She was very patriotic, loved her road trips, enjoyed poppy fields, waterfalls, and oh, how she loved baseball, especially her LA DODGERS.
Kathy is survived by her four Butler boys, Fred (Monta), Craig (Judy), John, Jeffrey (Rob), her three sisters, Donna (Bob) Donaldson, Monica (Kent) Bowcutt and Cheryl (Ken) Decker. Kathy loved her four Grandchildren, Mat (Rachel) Edgar, Tawnee (Aaron) Grammatico, Jacqi (Jeff) Newman and Jonny (Emely) Butler and her five Great Grandbabies, Kaden, Madison, Jaxson, Olivia and baby Newman joining the family in February of 2024. She is dearly loved and missed by a stadium full of her loving nieces, nephews and many cousins.
