Jimmie Gilbert Martinez

June 30, 1929 – April 17, 2016

Jimmie was born in Redlands, California and was a lifetime resident of the Inland Empire. Jimmie graduated from Redlands High School in 1948, joined the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in September 1952. Jimmie worked at Norton AFB until 1959 when he left to attend College. He graduated from Redlands University in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He worked as a Budget Officer at Aerospace in San Bernardino until 1970 when he took the position as Budget Officer at California State University San Bernardino until he retired in December 1993.

Jimmie married Rachel Adame on March 1958 and celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on March 8, 2016. Jimmie and Rachel had 4 Children; Alec James (Deceased 1963), Charles Gilbert, Eric James (Kathy) and Mia Evelyn Rachel, 2 Grandchildren; Payton Rachel Ann and Alec James.

Jimmie was preceded in death by Sisters; Lucille Cabral, Linda Castillo and Brother Reynaldo Martinez. Jimmie is survived by his Wife Rachel, his Children, Sister Angie Teixeira, countless Nephews, Nieces and Relatives.

Jimmie was a gentle man who loved his Family, enjoyed many hobbies but was known for his drawing talent which included various types of cartoons.

Jimmie was a member of Good Shephard Church and later Cornerstone Church with Pastors Henry & Irene Adame.

Funeral Services will be performed by Pastor Raul Adame Jr. at Mt. View Chapel in San Bernardino, Wednesday April 27th at 1:00pm followed by burial at Mt. View Cemetery.
