Javier Jesus Garcia

Javier Jesus “J.J.” Garcia of Rocklin, California, passed peacefully on October 27, 2016 at age 77. J.J. was born to Jesus and Celia Garcia in Los Angeles, CA on April 9, 1939 and grew up in San Bernardino and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1957. J.J. enlisted and served in the Navy aboard the USS Midway. After his naval service J.J. graduated from Long Beach State in 1971 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. He married the love of his life, Sally Monge, also of San Bernardino, on July 23, 1966. J.J., Sally, and their 3 children moved to Rocklin where he lived for the last 37 years. J.J. retired from Pacific Bell in 1996 and enjoyed his retired life playing golf, spending time with family, and traveling.

J.J. was a friendly, gentle, and kind man who loved his family deeply and was known for his warm and engaging smile, willingness to help and eagerness for a friendly chat with everyone whom he encountered. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally, brother, Luis, daughter, Julie, son Daniel and daughter-in-law Jennifer, son David and daughter-in-law Michelle, and granddaughter Gabriella, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
