Ismael "Lito" Jimenez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in San Bernardino, California. He was born to Margarito and Lucy Jimenez and lived in San Bernardino his entire life. He is preceded in death by his wife Gloria Jimenez. He is survived by his sons, Lenny and Sherrill, Kenny and Denise, Richie and Bernie, Gary and Raquel, and daughters Lorraine and Xavier (Xapante), Rachel and Jonny Rojas, and Regina Jimenez. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
As a young man Lito enlisted in the United States Army and completed boot camp training at Fort Ord, California. After boot camp he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was in the 11th Airborne Division where he recorded 21 jumps as a United States Army paratrooper. Shortly after training he was stationed over seas in Germany.
Upon arriving back at home Lito became a cement mason which he did for 45 years until retiring in 1997. Lito was a gifted gardener and took pride in taking care of his yard. Lito was an avid Rams and Dodgers fan.
Funeral services will take place at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery 570 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92404 on September 1st at 10:00am. Reception to follow at 1371 W. Evans Street, San Bernardino, CA.
