In Loving Memory of Evelyn Helen Wilson (nee Frost)
Evelyn Helen Wilson, born on April 21st, 1928, in San Bernardino, California, peacefully
departed from this world on October 2nd, 2023. She was the cherished daughter of Otto and
Eva Frost and spent her formative years growing up in the heart of San Bernardino.
Evelyn's journey in life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her community. She
dedicated many years of her life working diligently for the city of San Bernardino, where she left
an indelible mark on the place she called home. Her tireless efforts extended beyond her
professional life, as she actively participated in various groups, including the American Business
Women's Association (ABWA) and the Perris Hill Neighborhood Association. Evelyn was a true
community advocate, always striving to make her neighborhood a better place.
Her faith held a special place in her heart, and she was a devoted member of the First Christian
Church. Evelyn also found fellowship and camaraderie as a dedicated member of the Elk's
Lodge.
Evelyn was not only a dedicated community leader but also a loving mother and grandmother.
She was known for her green thumb and had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed solving the
daily Jumble in the newspaper, adding a touch of fun to her daily routine. She also sponsored
several international children and donated to many charities. She enjoyed sending and receiving
letters and was a dedicated penpal.
Evelyn Helen Wilson is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Otto and Eva, as well as her
sisters, Louise and Velma. She now joins her loving husband, John Kelly Wilson, along with two
sons, John and David, and her son-in-law, Clifford McColley, in eternal peace.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda, of Kentucky, and her devoted daughters-in-law, Susan
of California, and Pamela of California. Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of love and family,
including her cherished grandchildren: Kelly (Gilbert) Enriquez, Travis (Laura) McColley, Lauren
Wilson, Kristin (Nate) Atwood, Kimberly (Bradford) Neuman, Lyndsey Wilson, and Andrew
Wilson. Her spirit lives on in the laughter and joy of eight great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Evelyn Helen Wilson's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate
enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and community that will
continue to inspire us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to one of Evelyn's cherished
community organizations or charities in her honor.
Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery. A graveside service for Evelyn will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM at 4227, 570 E. Highland ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404.
