Brenda R. Butler

in Franklin, Louisiana to her parents, Alvin &

Virginia Rochelle. She was the first born of five

children. Brenda graduated from Park Avenue

High School in Franklin, Louisiana in 1966 and

shortly moved to Inglewood California with her

childhood sweetheart Leroy Junior Butler. Brenda

and Leroy married on December 13, 1969. In

1976, they were blessed with one son, Ja-Ron

Keith Butler.

During her early years in California, Brenda

attended vocational school and later became a

Customer Service Representative for GTE. After

serving graciously for over 25 years in that field,

Mrs. Butler retired in 2001. Brenda enjoyed

shopping and spending time with her grandsons.

Mrs. Butler was proceeded in death by her parents,

Alvin and Virginia Rochelle; her sisters Mary

Crosby and Carol Rochelle. Brenda is survived by

her husband Leroy of Highland, CA; her son Jaron

Butler (Chantell), of San Bernardino, CA; her

brother Alvin Rochelle Jr. of Franklin, LA; her sister

Linda Broussard of Franklin, LA; three grandsons-

Devon, Jayden, and Trevor; her daughter-in-law

Takeysha Kelly; her niece/daughter Michelle

Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,

friends, and loved ones.

Brenda Rochelle Butler died on July 11, 2015 in St.

Bernardine Hospital in San Bernardino, CA due to

complications following lung cancer.

Mrs. Butler’s final wishes and resting place will be

Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, LA.
