Anthony Ray Davis was the eldest son born on July 13, 1961, to Jewel Marie Wells and Claud Lee Davis. As a young boy "Ray Ray" as he was lovingly called close family and friends enjoyed playing sports especially baseball and basketball. He maintained a huge collection of sports playing-cards as this was an early passion of his.
Not only was Anthony an avid sports enthusiast, but he was also a scholar. He was very knowledgeable on many subjects and playfully teased by his siblings as being a walking encyclopedia, to that he would quip, "well I should be, I have read all of the Encyclopedia Britannica volumes."
Having been accepted to many colleges and universities, Anthony opted to join the United States Navy were he was trained as a nuclear physicists. He was very proud to serve his country. While in the Navy, he met and married Susan Hart with whom he produced two beautiful daughters, Danielle and Alicia.
After completing two enlistments with the U.S. Navy, Anthony returned to San Bernardino, CA. It was during this time that he reacquainted with and married a high school "soul mate" as he lovingly referred to her, Adela.
At the time of his passing, Anthony was employed with the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, CA where he had recently been awarded "Employee of the Year."
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Claud L. Davis and sister Shaun T. Davis.
Left to cherish and share his memory are his parents Jewel and Charles DeMorst Jr., wife Adela Davis, children Danielle (Andrew), Alicia (Preston), Katie and Erica along with one grandson (Robert).
Also remembering Anthony are his brothers Chris (Diane), Lance (Tua), Trae (Lia); sisters Stephanie, Celeste (Michael), Tosha, Corey, Wendy, Lisa, Launi, Jayne (Lenny). A host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and family friends.
As we are saddened by Anthony's sudden departure from his life here on earth, rejoice in knowing that he had a new direction and purpose as he wrote it so plainly in a note to family on December 26, 2011.
I Love you Guys
Gods will; His way; His lead...I follow
Without Doubt, Fear or Regret...I follow
And "Ray Ray" we love you too!
