Jose had a passion for photography and has taken marvelous pictures of his family and friends. Jose was a big Dallas Cowboys fan, as well as, a San Benito Greyhounds Fan. Anytime a Greyhound game was happening, you could find Jose there taking pictures of his family and friends, and if you were lucky enough to know him, he would give you the pictures that he took.
For many years, Jose worked at Walmart and during his retirement, he worked part-time at AutoZone. Jose was a proud Navy Veteran. He would always talk about the different places he went and the different boats he was on.
Jose was a big family man and he will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Jose is survived by his sons, Jay Garcia, Joe Garcia, David Garcia, Danny Garcia, and Sam Garcia; his brothers, Gonzalo Garcia, Nicanor Garcia, Jr., Jose Luis Garcia, Michael Garcia, and Eddie Garcia (Nephew); his sisters, Roseann Castro and Tina Garcia; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jose was preceded in death by his father Nicanor Garcia Sr. and his mother Belen P. Garcia; his sister Rosemarie Garcia.
Visitation for Jose will being on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm, continuing until 9:00pm, with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta 26170 State Hwy 345 San Benito, TX. Funeral Mass to be held at St Benedict Catholic Church 351 S Bowie St San Benito, TX. Burial to follow immediately after mass at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
