Estella fell asleep in death surrounded by her loved ones. Estella will be remembered as a loving and compassionate person.She had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. Her beautiful smile always lighted up the room. She loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as well as her great nieces and great nephews as if they were her own children. They referred her as their “second mom” and will miss her tremendously. Estella dedicated her time caring for her mother until she couldn't.
The family would also like to thank her caretaker Irlanda Barrios Lárraga for the amazing care, love and comfort she gave to their beloved Estella during the time of care til the very end.
Estella had a passion for crafting, traveling, solving puzzles, and most of all spending quality time with family. She graduated from San Benito High School in 1965 where she was involved in Choir and many other school clubs. She enjoyed bowling and received trophies and awards for her skills.
Estella is survived by her mother, Guadalupe L. Cantu; her brothers, Reynaldo Cantu (Lydia Cantu), Julian Cantu Jr. (Sylvia Cantu), Ricardo Cantu (Esmeralda Cantu), and Esteban Cantu (Cynthia Cantu).
She was preceded in death by her father, Julian Cantu, and her brothers, Edwardo “Lalo” Cantu and Alvino Cantu.
Visitation for Estella will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta, 26170 State Hwy 345 San Benito, TX 78586. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Her Family will always remember Estella as a woman with a heart of gold. They will never forget all the good she did when she had the opportunity to be a blessing. Although she is gone, she will forever live in their wonderful memories and hearts.
