Antonio endured many health challenges in his life, but faced all of his illnesses with courage and conviction. He was a man with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, valuing every day he spent on this earth. His unwavering faith helped him accept the cross he bore with grace and humility.
Antonio was an affectionate and caring husband to his wife of 28 years, Rubi Garcia (nee Calderon) and a devoted and loving father to his son and namesake, Antonio Isaias Garcia.
Antonio was an avid gardener, having developed a green thumb during the last few years of his life, and found joy in watching his flowers grow. He was a history buff, devouring books and documentaries on U.S. history, U.S. presidents and world history. Antonio was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic always cheering on his favorite football team no matter the season and always saying “This is our year!” He loved music and singing aloud to his favorite country and Tejano songs. Antonio loved his pets and had a special compassion for animals, having grown up with many four-legged friends.
Antonio joins his mother, Maria Isabel, in heaven, as the two were inseparable during the last few years of her life. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his mom.
Preceding him in death are also his father, Conrado Garcia, in addition to his older brother, Oberlin.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Rubi Garcia, and his son, Antonio Isaias Garcia; and a brother, Conrad (Diane) Garcia; sisters-in-law Susana (George) Gonzalez, Magdalena (Joe) Benavidez, and Melissa Garcia; mother-in-law, Noemi Calderon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
