Yolanda Villareal Ruiz, born on October 16, 1938, to Reyes Ozuna in San Antonio, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April, 3, 2014. Yolanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In 1956, she married Valentin T. (Willie) Ruiz and celebrated 49 years of marriage. Yolanda attended Brackenridge High School and received her GED May 18, 1981. Her work history included being a "Mama Patrol," housecleaning at the Methodist Hospital (77-78) and finally food service for the San Antonio Independent School District where she retired after 30 years of service (1974-2004) the last 15 years as a Manager, which included Longfellow Middle School, Fox Tech High School, Ruiz and Madison Elementary Schools. She was a Member of the Food Service Association where she held the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, and President. After Pop passed away in 2005, she attended the Widow Support Group at St. Matthews Catholic Church. In retirement she enjoyed her bunco, bingo, and dominoes clubs at Leon Valley Senior Center, St. Matthews, St. George Maronite, and Los Patios. Her last training endeavor was teaching the Mexican Train domino game at the Leon Valley Center. Yolanda was blessed and is survived by 8 children: Valentin (Debbie), Michael (Arlene), Martin (Traci), Victor, Carlos (Cecilia), Joe (Olga), Mary Ann (Stephen), Debra Ann (Scott); 11 grandchildren: Crystal (Zane), Amber, Tony, Dan (Carolyn), Stephanie, Nicolas, Franchesca, Carlos Andres, Justin, Jacob, Rose; and 5 great grandchildren: Michael, Abigail, Isabella, Joaquin, and Luke. There will be a visitation on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service to be conducted at 7:00 pm. On Monday we will depart at 9:30 am from Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in procession to Prince of Peace Catholic Church for a 10:00 am Holy Mass. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
