Yolanda D. Martinez, age 72, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Yolanda was born August 6, 1949 to Flavio and Victoria Diaz. She graduated from Jefferson High School and would later retire from Dillard's and enjoy running a small retail business with her daughter. Yolanda loved to camp, fish, travel, and garden, but even more than that she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, making memories and watching them grow.
Yolanda is preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Hector; and her Baby Sister Diaz. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Arnoldo C. Martinez; her 2 children, Angela Bennett (Robert) and Arnoldo D. Martinez Jr. (Ericka); 4 grandchildren, Amy, Sophia, Isabella, and Arnoldo III; and her 5 siblings, Gilbert Diaz, Robert Diaz, Hilda Lawson, Richard Diaz, and Ruben Diaz.
A visitation for Yolanda will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A small funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11:30 AM at First Spanish Church of Nazarene, 3123 Perez St, San Antonio, TX 78207 with a committal service following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
