Yolanda H. Flores, (81) went to be with her Lord on February 16, 2021. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Carlos Herrera and Domitila Fuentes on November 18, 1939. Yolanda is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Herrera and Domitila Fuentes; and her husband of 58 years, Odilon G. Flores.
She is survived by her children, Elaine H. Flores and Carlos H. Flores and his wife Linda Flores; grandchildren, Candace Lauren Flores, Tristan Jude Flores, Elayna Jessalynn Flores; her sister, Elia Medellin; nieces, Cynthia Medellin Tejeda and Patricia Medellin Peralta; nephews, Edward Medellin and Victor Medellin.
Yolanda was a strong, beautiful, and independent woman. She worked for many years in house cleaning, and often raved about her beloved boss, Ms. Privels. She also worked at the V.J. Keefe Baseball Stadium in the 80’s for the San Antonio Dodgers. She worked briefly at Taco Riendo Restaurant part-time. She did not need to work, but she liked to. Especially because she loved to shop. She was a heck of a negotiator and would never take the first price offered on anything she had her mind set on purchasing. She loved her grandchildren and spoiled them with cloths and toys. She adored her sister, whom she called “Manita” and visiting with her and her family during the holidays, birthdays and other special occasions. She also adored her best friend, Irene Ramirez, whom she will be ecstatic to be joining in heaven along with her husband Odilon. May the perpetual light shine upon her.
