William A. Stanton, (Bill) born January 5, 1937, passed on to eternal life with the Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his parents, John A. Stanton and Antonia Jaeckle Stanton. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Doris Lydia Stanton; his two sons and their wives, Jack and Cheryl Stanton, and Terrance and Mary Stanton and grandson Henry Williams; and his sister Mary Angela Stanton Taylor. After graduating from Central Catholic High School and the University of Texas at El Paso, he retired from the US Treasury after 25 years of service. He then started his own tax consulting practice as an enrolled agent until 2009. He also pursued a career in law enforcement acting both as a reserve deputy in Bandera County and then serving ten years as the Bandera County Precinct 4 Constable. Bill lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the time spent at his ranch in Bandera County raising sheep, shooting guns and drinking cold beer. He will be missed. In lieu of floral offerings donations may be made to any charity of choice. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday July 7, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday July 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
