Our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, William (Bill) J Smith, passed away during his 100th year of life on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Bill was born on July 1, 1920 to Arthur and Sarah Smith in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arthur and George, and his sisters Rita and Dolores. He is survived, after almost 65 years of marriage, by his loving wife Helga Smith; daughter Evelyn Fedako and her husband Steve Fedako; grandson Ryan Fedako and his wife Casey Fedako and greatdaughters Piper and Andi Fedako; grandson Dustin Fedako and his fiancée Kendra Bones.
Bill served our country with distinction for 30 years, to include seeing action during WWII and the Korean conflict where he earned a purple heart.
A memorial service will be held at Independence Village on Monday, March 9th at 11:00am. The committal service will be Monday March 9th at 2:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at Shelter 1.
