Graduated from Highlands High School in 1965 before joining the U.S. Marines on June 1965. Medically retired from the Marine Corp 1968. He continued his education at Texas A&M, earning his Bachelors and then his Masters in August 1978. Later, he became a teacher of Math, History and Driver’s ED at multiple schools in San Antonio. Due to his love for airplanes and flying he trained as a pilot, became a flight instructor for fixed wing and helicopters and private pilot for Tom Benson in San Antonio, commercial pilot for Conquest airlines and Flight Safety International. Through his life, he had a love for skeet shooting and pistols and was a great bowler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde Rumbo and Norma Mavis Easley. He is survived by his sisters, Sue Ann Moore (Thomas) and Sandra Cryer (Curtis), as well as his nieces and nephews, Jeff Ricabaugh, Amy Rountree, William Lind, and Dana Capielo.

A visitation for William will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
