William “Bill” Isador Hosek, Jr., 67, of San Antonio, passed peacefully at 08:33 AM, Sunday, March 29, 2020, at his home in Leon Springs, Texas. He was born September 08, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to William Isador Hosek, Sr. and Susan Eleanor Kollodziej.
He is survived by his mother and father; Wife, Cathy Sue Lannan-Hosek and his 4 children, Wayne (Elif) Hosek, Charla (Derrick) Kenney, Kyle Hosek, and John (Christina) Hosek; grandchildren, Kamden Hosek, Evren Hosek, and Barrett Kenney; one sister Eleanor (John) Vrzalik; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Hosek.
Bill was a lifetime resident of San Antonio where he was born and raised. Bill graduated from McCollum High School and obtained his degrees in physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Bill traveled the world as a principal scientist with Southwest Research Institute for 47 years. Bill enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, cooking, and camping. Most of his friends and family will remember the good times at Medina Lake. Despite several recent health setbacks, Bill did his best to keep up with his grandsons.
Due to the current health situation, a private viewing will be held for immediate family at 09:00 AM on Wednesday, April 01, 2020, at Sunset North Funeral Home. The viewing will also be available via live-stream and on demand for other family and friends who wish to pay respects remotely.
