Born the third child of Juan and Pauline Altoville Faz in Bexar County, Texas on April 21, 1937. Father Juan of German ancestry and mother Pauline of Italian ancestry. William, Bill to friends and family but Billy to his mother, grew up in San Antonio, Texas.
Bill married Sylvia Martinez August 1956. They were parents to William Jr., Robert, Arlene, Yolanda, Raymond, Leticia, Elizabeth, Rolando and Gabriel. Yolanda passed away February 27, 1995.
Bill worked for the Pearl Brewer as a dock foreman and union steward for many years. He also drove a delivery truck for the brewery.
Bill earned his GED and attended night school getting a degree in electronics. After receiving his degree he went to work for the San Antonio Police Department in their electronics department, repairing and installing radio equipment. He earned a nick name of "Sparkey."
Bill moved to Colorado in early 1970. Stepped off the bus with no job, no place to live and very little money in his pocket. He went to work for Mile High Express driving a semi. He had to quickly learn how to get around Denver. In 1974 he went to work for Adams County School District 12 in the maintenance department.
Bill married Janet Sutphin March 19, 1993. He became Dad to Sheryl and Diana, Janet's daughters and grandpa to Janet's four grandchildren.
Dad or Daddy to eleven children. Grandpa to nineteen grandchildren and nineteen and counting great-grandchildren.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors. He played softball, the position of pitcher. He loved camping and fishing in Colorado. Caught a lot of Rainbow Trout.
In 1998 Bill and Janet moved to Texas. They enjoyed camping and listening to Blue Grass Music in Bellville, Texas.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his three, four legged boys: Willie, Waylen, and Wyatt. He also enjoyed bowling. On January 26, 2009 he had a near perfect game, eight strikes in a row, ending with a score of 247 out of a possible 300.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, mother, whom he loved dearly, brother Eloy, brother Richard, daughter Yolanda and son-in-law, John.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his best friend and wife, of 25 years Janet, sister, Rachel, brothers, Joe and Michael, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill's wife would like to thank those of you who took time to visit, give him a hug, a smile or made him laugh. Thank you to the professionals who cared for him and made him comfortable.
The final resting place for Mr. William Theodore Faz will be in the Colorado Mountains where he loved to camp and fish.
