Major William (“Bill”) Joseph Donovan, (Ret., USAF), went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2014. Bill proudly served as a pilot in the USAF for 20 years, he began his career in Utica, New York and after being stationed in San Antonio 4 times, he decided to retire here which allowed him the opportunity to work as a corporate pilot for a local family for 18 years. Bill was well-known, loved and remembered with each person he encountered. He enjoyed many things but the loves of his life were his wife, family, and airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis A. Donovan, daughters Linda A. George and Lynn Ann Donovan, son William M. Donovan, granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Donovan, Son-In-Law Jesus S. Inclan, Daughter-In-Law Michelle Donovan, parents Michael J. and Caroline Z. Donovan, and Brother-In-Law Richard Vadney. He is survived by his sister Rita Vadney; children Sharon L. Inclan, John J. Donovan, Robert J. Donovan and wife Linda, James M. Donovan and wife Melissa, Lisa A. Donovan, and Cynthia A. Faulkner; Daughter-In-Law Carolyn A. Donovan; grandchildren Paul Inclan and wife Juanita, Janice Jimenez and husband Joel, Travis Stenseth and wife Sarah, William M. Donovan II, Laura Poe and husband Matt, Brittlee Donovan, Brandi Donovan, Bradlee Donovan, Adrian George and wife Brandy, Shane Donovan, Steven Donovan, Stephanie Faulkner and fiance’ Brandon Mick, Corey Faulkner, Danielle Faulkner, Jenna Faulkner, Heather Faulkner, and Ryan Faulkner. In addition, 10 great grandchildren.
He will be always loved and missed by those blessed to have known him. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
