Mr. Carle was in his 26th year teaching at Southside High School.
Before becoming a public school teacher, Mr. Carle served as a Captain in the United States Armed Forces for 12 years and was awarded for his service with a National Defensive Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and an Outstanding Unit Award.
Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at the University of Louisville, Kentucky where he taught National Security Policy and History of U.S. Air Power. “
Bill graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Arts in 1981, followed by a Master of Arts from Webster University in 1984.
He was a loving father and grandfather. He always expressed how proud he was of his children and grandchildren for their accomplishments.
Mr. Carle was dearly loved by his students and colleagues at Southside High School. He always desired to give his best support to his students and those he worked with. Bill would always listen when someone needed an ear, encouraged when someone needed support and motivated others to achieve their lifelong goals.
Bill was an avid sports fan who loved the Cincinnati Reds, Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Ohio State University sports and the Texas Longhorn football team. As he would say every Monday morning after Sunday football when the Cowboys would play, “How bout’ them COWBOYS!!”.
He was a perpetual student of world history and politics. He loved traveling with Wendy and was always looking forward to the next adventure, but the place he liked best was at home, in his chair, surrounded by his menagerie of pets, which he dearly loved.
He is survived by the love of his life, Wendy Jarvis; Children, Jada Stuckert (Dave), T.J. Carle, Emma and Jana Jarvis; Parents, Joseph A. and Mary Ann Carle; Siblings, Jacob (Leann), Mary Jo (Nathan), Bob (Liz) Ed (Joni), Patty (Dave) and Teresa (Phil); Grandchildren, Jenna, Kimberly, Rebecca and Nathan.
