Wendell Duane Karoly

Wendell Duane Karoly, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Karoly; sister-in -law and husband, Gette Beauvais and Gary Davis; brother-in-law and wife, Michael Caples and Laurie; brother-in-law Jerry Caples; and many nieces and nephews.

Wendell taught school for 30 years at Ed. White Middle School in San Antonio. Prior to that he was in the service for 11 years serving two tours in Vietnam, first as a rifle platoon lieutenant and then as a rifle company commander. Wendell was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church since 1990 and attended the 5:00 pm Mass every Sunday. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a collector of knives and watches. Wendell loved his family and enjoyed spending holidays with them. He enjoyed his friends and often went hunting with them.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Mass will be held the next day, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest Dr., San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
