Wanita "Bea " Carlson Matera born on April 12, 1927 in Edcouch/Elsa Texas was called to be with the Lord March 28, 2015 at the age of 87. Mrs. Matera was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Matera; daughter, Marsha Matera; 3 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her son, Ronald F. Matera; grandson, Blaine Matera; great-grandson, Daegan Matera; grandsons, Anthony P. Matera (Katie), Joseph Andrew Matera; and several nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong avid bridge player and loved her 5 o'clock Manhattan cocktails. She also loved to cook and travel. She volunteered at the Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital auxiliary as a Bluebird. There will be a viewing for family and friends from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park.
