On March 19, 2013, God chose Veldora McClure to be his next angel of choice. She slipped away peacefully at the Holy Cross hospital in Silver Spring, MD to unite with her Maker. Veldora McClure born March 7, 1926, a former Nurses Aid for over 13 years, was a native of Saint Hedwig, Texas. She attended Sweet Home Elementary/Elem Creek. She was an only child and at an early age she moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she met and married Mr. Haywood McClure and they both became members of Gardendale Community Baptist Church. Before becoming a member of the Gardendale Community Baptist Church, she was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she diligently served as secretary. She held this position for many years. Veldora was very active in the local community and a pioneer in serving others. She was also a successful business owner, farmer, and, of course, a dear friend, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly enjoyed cooking and anyone who ever tasted one of her dishes knew that she certainly perfected the craft. When she was not taking care of others, she would enjoy watching game shows. She spent her life honoring the Lord by helping others and taking care of her mother-in-law, mother, father and spouse until God called them home. Veldora, fondly known as "Sang" to her friends and family, is preceded in death by her Husband Haywood McClure, her parents Dora Cunningham and Robert Cunningham. She leaves to mourn one Son, Howard Kendrick (daughter-in-law, Bernice Kendrick) who reside in California, two Daughters Erma Hodge who resides in Maryland, and Shirley Darrow (son-in-law, James Darrow) who reside in California, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of friends and family.
And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. Rev 21:4
