Tomas was a graduate of Harlandale High School, and upon graduation, started a lifelong career with the Coca-Cola Company on May 21, 1974. At the age of 19, he started out as a nightshift warehouse loader and throughout his 42 years with the company, worked his way up holding various management positions.
On October 26, 1974, he started a lifelong marriage to his wife of 41 years, Jennifer Morales Galan.
Tomas enjoyed many activities, including fishing, hunting, and playing poker, especially Texas Hold 'Em. Whenever an opportunity showed itself, Tomas would head to Port Aransas with his family and friends to fish. Any spare moment he had, you could find him playing a game of poker on his phone. Tomas was an avid sports fan.
He loved the San Antonio Spurs, but his heart belonged fully to the Washington Redskins football team. He was very proud of his autographed football, signed by none other than the two-time Pro Bowler, Joe Theismann.
Above all, Tomas was devout in his faith, and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was the best husband, father and grandfather with a heart of gold, and he will be dearly missed, and forever remembered as a man of God, who sacrificed all he could for his beloved family.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Carlos and Virginia Galan. Tomas is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Galan; children, Leslie Galan Longoria (Gabriel), Tomas Casanova Galan, Jr., Ashley Galan (Joe Moraida); granddaughters, Cadence Hope Moraida, Tyler Moraida; and his six siblings and their families.
