Timothy Keith Gressler was born in San Diego California to Carole Joyce Ogden. Tim grew up in San Antonio Texas and lived with his mother, grandmother, and half-brother. His family owned an apartment building near San Antonio College on West Ave where he was often found charming the pretty girls while riding up and down the elevators as they went to their classes.
Throughout junior high and high school, Tim began to foster his love for music and radio. He played bass clarinet in the Churchill Charger Marching Band and when he was not in school he liked to spend his time talking on his ham radio to other operators around the city. Tim graduated from Churchill High School in 1972.
Timothy’s love for sound and tv production led him to study radio and tv at San Antonio College. After he graduated, Tim worked a few jobs in the industry and even lived in Houston for a short time and worked at Gilley’s Rodeo Nightclub. He managed the sound system there and fell in love with the lights, sounds, and the guitars of country music. He later returned to San Antonio and opened his first studio in the Majestic Theatre in downtown.
As a young adult Tim began his studies to become a Mason, and was raised to the degree of Master Mason in 1982. From there he became a Shriner and joined the motor patrol for his local San Antonio chapter. Tim loved riding in the local parades and working the annual Shrine Circus to raise money for the Shriner’s Burn Hospitals.
Tim’s business grew and he expanded his work into supporting the tape ministry and running the sound at Trinity Baptist church. It was there the head pastor Buckner Fanning led him to meet and accept his Savior. Tim and Buckner worked together for twenty-two years. After church one Wednesday night in 1983, Barbara and Tim met at the “Dallas” dance club and fell in love and soon were married at Trinity University on July 23, 1983.
As the years went by Tim built his studio off Randolph Blvd and Barbara taught in SAISD. Between them they had three children, Timothy JR, Kimberly and Matthew. The young family moved to the New Braunfels area in 1993 and began putting roots into the community there. Oakwood Baptist church became their new church home, and Tim also served in many ways there. As a family you could find them camping, BBQing at Landa Park and swimming at the Blue Hole in Wimberly. As the boys got older, they both got their license and rode motorcycles up and down the highways of Texas with Kimberly and Barbara in tow.
In later years Tim and Barbara joined the GWRRA local club and loved to ride and to camp with the Alzafar Shrine RV club. Tim never wanted to stay in the same place on a sunny Sunday afternoon. He wanted to be out on his bike and ride with his friends and family. His Sundays always began at Oakwood Baptist Church and ended outside of Gruene hall on the motorcycle with a cigar and close friends.
Tim is survived by his wife, Barbara, his three children, Jr. and his wife Joanne, Kimberly and her husband Calvin Crowdis, and Matthew. His first wife, Patty Reininger will also miss him.
