Dr. Thomas James Curtin, Ph.D. and Lt. Col. USAF Retired, age 84, of San Antonio, died Sunday, July 14, 2002. He was born and educated in New York, where he graduated from Manhattan College and attended Columbia University. He later received his Masters Degree from the University of Florida and his Ph.D. From the University of Maryland. Tom entered a very successful and highly decorated military career during which he was an entomologist and biologist. He retired in 1968 and went into higher education as Director of Research for Ohio State University, Wayne State University and Texas Women's University. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cecilia. Survivors: wife of 46 years, Nancy Curtin; daughter, Suzanne Locking, Abingdon, VA; sons, John Curtin, St. Louis, MO and Matthew Curtin, Houston, TX; daughter, Julia Curtin, San Antonio; five grandchildren.
