Thomas was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Fred and Virginia Allison on September 17, 1938. He went to school at Ambridge High School. He married Mary Allison on August 11, 1957 in Cumberland, Maryland. He worked as a radio DJ for KITE, KWED, KBUC and KKYX for 37 years. He also worked as a weekend weatherman for KSAT 12 for 3 years. He moved on to be a bus driver, trainer and stadium announcer for NISD where he retired in 2005 after 16 years. He was involved in Prince of Peace church where he would be a Sunday lector and commentator.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Virginia Allison, sister Lucinda Allison Hawkins, son Donald Lee Allison, grandson Robert Chayne Allison and 7 great grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his wife Mary Allison, brother Rick “Fred” (Martina) Allison, daughter Joi (Mike) Barnes, son Fritz “Wolf” (Tina) Allison, granddaughters Virginia (Ruben, dec) Gonzales, Chantelle Barnes and Fiance Devon Flores, grandsons John Larison Jr and T.J. Allison, great granddaughters Shelby (Zeke), Emily and Erin Gonzales, great grandsons Conner Vaughn, Remington Wade, Michael Fagan, Kody and Marshall Bishop and many step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Allison, Mike Barnes, Fritz Allison, Chantelle Barnes, Devon Flores and T.J. Allison.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A chapel service will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A committal service will follow on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. James Catholic Cemetery, 656 Dolle Ave, Seguin, TX 78155.
