

Thad S. Stevens, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008. He was born September 21, 1923 in St. Louis, MO.
Mr. Stevens served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served on the USS MONAGHAN and finished out his service as a Chief Signalman.
He was later employed by Bell Systems/AT&T in Louisville, KY for 40 years. Thad was a member of University United Methodist Church and he was a member of Alamo Chapter 2, Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was also very involved in the Bell South Pioneers of America.
His brother, Eugene Neil Stevens, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Sara Elizabeth Rodriguez and husband Jose; son, Kenneth Thad Stevens and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Adam Leary and wife Andrea; James, Anne, and Alice Stevens; and Richard, Paul and Martin Rodriguez; great grandchild, Zsofi Leary.
