Sylvia was a smart, beautiful woman who loved books, football, the Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame, Shakespeare, vampires and rock music. She was a proud supporter of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement, especially wounded warriors and those lost in the line of duty. She was a true patriot and loved our nation deeply. But above all, she loved all the people in her life immensely and always put everyone else before herself remembering everything from birthdays, to anniversaries, to shirt sizes. From helping my parents with their daily needs; to assisting library patrons with their first resume, this is the legacy and the immortal memory of Sylvia.
She was a 1980 graduate of Little Flower School; a 1984 graduate of Incarnate Word High School; and a 1989 graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University with a BA in English/Communication Arts. She was also a 2011 graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a Master of Library Science Degree. She worked for the Public Library System at the McCreless, Central, Delview, and Las Palmas locations. She was also a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at St. Ann’s and St. John Bosco. She impacted the lives of everyone around her and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road.
