It's been almost a year since Sydney left this world . It's not the same without her here. We miss the good things she brought to our lives and she was taken too soon 
 She would be 30 now ,a milestone we looked forward to celebrating . I hope she can somehow see that it hasn't gone unnoticed and was celebrated in our hearts . As time goes by more and more I see the strength that our girl had . I didn't always see it at the time or understand what she was trying to tell us but we do now. Sydney knew that her life would be short and told us so but in the same breath made it clear not to be sad and to live our best life. She was like no one I've ever met and there are things I couldn't see before that I see clearly now. She is truly missed and we look forward to the day we are reunited with her in eternity.

Sydney was one of a kind and I'm glad to have known her and have been a friend of hers . She loved rocks and i can't tell you how many rock stacks that are out there in the woods she made . . We would pass by these big limestone rocks on the side of the road behind a subdivision of houses and somebody had been chiseling statues out of them . Every time we would drive by sydney would light up and comment about them . She would say I wonder who it is and they are getting better and she would ask me to stop sometimes and she would get out and look at them and touch them . One day she took a pad of paper out and wrote a note  . I didn't see what she wrote she folded it over and put it on her favorite one with a little rock on top of it . About a year later I ran into a guy selling a trailer and he happened to live in that neighborhood I said I know where it is its by those rock sculptures he said he was the one that was chiseling them . I told him my friend loved it and had even left a note on one a while back and he said I have that note framed on my wall at home . It was the  inspiration he needed . I rushed home to tell her about it and it wasn't a surprise to her she had a way knowing things and did things for reasons only she knew . She could make a stranger feel important and they were important to her. She noticed things most people didn't and cared about things that most don't. 
She chiseled her way into my heart and many many others.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My sister Margo told me about Sidney. I know what you're going though. I wish I could tell you it gets easier. It doesn't. I wish I could take your pain away.
