Sungwon was born to Kwan Ho Jung and Sook Jo Park in Seoul, South Korea. Sungwon graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ewha Women's University.
Sungwon met the love of her life, Giwon Jang, in 2006. A year later, they were married. Two children came of their union, Timothy and Sarah. While Giwon served in the Navy, they traveled to California, North Carolina, Okinawa Japan, Maryland, Connecticut, and Texas, where the family settled in 2017.
Sungwon was an excellent cook, a great mom, and a wonderful wife who found the balance to thrive in all she did. She loved to clean and organize and make things so much simpler. But she is most remembered for how funny and quick and witty she is. In the most challenging times, Sungwon would make them crack up until their bellies hurt.
Sungwon is survived by her husband, Giwon, and her two children, Timothy and Sarah.
