Mrs Sulema Sue (Mata) Gleich

Sulema was loved greatly by all that knew her. For many years, Sulema ran an in home daycare and informally adopted many children and grandchildren into her family. In her final years, she loved spending her time with her great-grandson, going to his soccer and t-ball games or more importantly, their Target runs. She loved watching him play in her living room with all of his dad’s toys. She also loved taking strolls through stores with her daughter Kelli, and going out to eat with her son Stephen. She looked forward to visit from her grandsons Hutch and Sawer and was extremely proud of grandchildren Colton, Kennedy and Keegan and their accomplishments in college and looking forward to their graduation and successful life.

Sulema is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond (Ray) Gleich; parents Jose and Leonarda Mata; her brother Orlando Mata, and Sister Audelia Mata; and her best friend Melba Tatum.

Sulema is survived by her three children, Stephen Gleich, Kelli Gleich, and Melissa (Rob) DeLancy; her grandchildren, Kelsey (Bianca) Gleich, Colton DeLancy, Keegan Gleich, Kennedy DeLancy, Sawyer DeLancy, and Hutchinson DeLancy; great-grandchildren Peyton Orta and Ari Gleich; sisters Zoila Mata and Janey Campbell; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

Sulema’s family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to her grandson, Kelsey Gleich, daughter Kelli Gleich, son Stephen Gleich; friends Terry and Robert Fragoso, and Kelly Ellis for the time, love, and dedication provided to her during her times of need. Special gratitude to the caregivers at Davita Marymont.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2023 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 pm, Monday, October 9, 2023 at St. Pius X Catholic Church (3303 Urban Crest, San Antonio, TX 78218). Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Reception following at Church of Blessed Sacrament 600 Oblate Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216.
