

Dr. Steven Daniel Sprague was born in San Antonio, TX on March 24, 1965 and entered eternal rest on January 19, 2011 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 45. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, James Sprague; Step-father, John Murray; brother, Patrick Sprague; sister, Barbara Perry. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carmelita Dominguez Sprague; sons, Matthew Steven Sprague, Daniel Ryan Sprague; mother, Viola Murray; sisters, Kathy Crabtree, JoAnn Harris, Geri Dunlap; brothers, Jim R. Sprague, Timothy Sprague, Ronald Sprague, Michael Sprague; step-brother, James Murray; step-sisters, Florence Peckover, Judith Murray; numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends, colleagues and patients. Steve attended St. Thomas More Catholic School and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. He graduated from UTSA and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and did his residency at Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, TX. Steve was a long time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and, more recently, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. He was very active in his church community as a CYO coach and ACTS member. Dr. Sprague was a physician at WellMed at Northern Hills for the last 16 years where he cared for and endeared himself to many. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic School.
