Stephen Michael Winn

Steve was born in Greenville, Kentucky to B. J. and Martha Winn on December 20, 1947. He went to school at Hughes-Kirk High School in Beechmont, Kentucky and graduated with an engineering degree from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. He married Linda Carpenter on September 22, 1978 in Loma Linda, California. He was self-employed and worked as a construction engineer/small builder for 20 plus years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, B. J. Winn and mother, Martha Nell Winn.

Steve is survived by his wife, Linda Carpenter Winn and four children: daughter Stephanie Turner (Charles Flatt) of Denver, Colorado, daughter, Tiffany (Jason) McArdle of San Antonio, TX, son, Brandon Winn, of Houston, TX and daughter, Candice (Chris DeLeon) of San Antonio, TX. He was also survived by two siblings, David (Sharon) Winn of Greenville, KY and Cindy (Jim) Yocum of Birmingham, AL. He also had one brother-in-law, Melvin Keith Carpenter of Pearsall, TX.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Pastor Austin Sharp of San Marcos Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
