

Stephen Michael Sims passed peacefully in his home in San Antonio, Texas on January 16, 2025. He was born October 9, 1946 in Saint Louis, Missouri and lived the majority of his life in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended St. Jude Catholic School and Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington and Indiana University Law School in Indianapolis. He also served in the United States Army. Stephen practiced law in Fort Wayne for more than forty years, where he served as Prosecuting Attorney for twelve years and as a Superior Court Judge for more than fifteen years.
Stephen was a faithful parishioner of St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in Alamo Heights. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda Sue (Mason) Sims, his daughters: Jessica Sims Champa (husband Ben Champa) and Rachel Sims Sadovsky (husband Gable Sadovsky); and his grandchildren: Gable, Penelope, Conley, Nathan, and Vivian. He is also survived by his sister Joan Stephens (husband Frank Stephens), and his brother Dale Sims (wife Char Sims), and several cousins who were like siblings to him. He is preceded in death by his mother Elsie Jean Lahrman (Rist) and his father John Stephen Noonan.

A Rosary will be offered at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 28th at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass. A Committal Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place in Fort Wayne at a future date.
