I have known Stan since 1976.  He was a sweet and gentle man.   He was always upbeat and looking forward to the future and positive about what was on the horizon.   He was  a man that was ready to help others in need at a moments notice. Stan’s sweet smile and warm hugs will be greatly missed. 

The last text message that I received from Stan said, "Belated Thanksgiving day wishes to you and Addie and Sophie.  If you would ever need anything I would be there for y'all."   I am so sad that I will not have Stan around to lean on and reminisce with.  I send my condolences and thoughts to his family - he talked about you all the time - you were so important to him.  

From the time that Addie and Sophie were very young, our family celebrated many holidays at the Jones' house.  I am eternally grateful for the way that Stan and Sammie welcomed us in for those holidays.  Stan would grill whatever and watch some sport with John and whoever else was there - always a great mix of adults and kids, family and friends.  We would lay out a huge spread of food and enjoy.  On New Years and the Fourth of July we would have a fire work extravaganza in the front yard - a hit with the kids and John.  

Stan was quick-witted and kind, fun to be around and always a favorite with the children.  I will hold Stan in my memory as a key person in my life - he is one of the people who made Houston feel like home.  

  

Stan’s friendship was one of the best things that ever happen to me. He was not only my mentor but the best friend I could ever wish for.  You were big in my life.  We tackled our problems together over and over again through the years. The wind blows a little colder tonight. His warmth is missing today. When I look in the sky, I’ll always remember Stan’s amazement of the stars and planets. And of how he would travel the country on a chance to see an eclipse.  How about those stars now my dear friend?   

What I loved about Stan was how he always did his best to help others.  His courage to never give on himself and keep fighting the fight. He inspired me to remember the simple things in life.  I will miss our laughs and in depth conversations. I will miss his support on my hard days. I will always be grateful for the friendship we had.  My heart is with his family. 

Stan was always positive and had a friendly joke. He helped me encouraged me and lifted me up in a dark time during my life for which I will be forever grateful.  Rest well my friend,
the world is not as bright without your light in it.

Dear Carol, I am sorry to hear of Stanley's passing. I remember him well from growing up together at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church. Rest in peace, dear Stanley, and love and comfort to you, Carol, and other family members.

Stan was a classmate at Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio, Class of '66. I remember Stan as witty, and most important, genuinely nice. My condolences to his family and friends, and prayers for strength and understanding.

For a short guy, Stan was a large presence anywhere he was! He was a leader without trying. People wanted to be like him. 
He was a strong presence in my circle of family & friends for many years - his intelligent wit & self-deprecating humor was something I always looked forward to. 
I’m really gonna miss that.

I met Stan almost 3 years ago.  He was an amazing man.  He would always state his date when he spoke saying “and I’m very greatfull for that.”  He would do any service work that was asked even if it was on very short notice.  He will be greatly missed by many.  RIP Stan the man in infinity.

Stan was a awesome guy who will be missed by many. I met Stan many years ago and from the moment we met, there was a friendship. Always a kind word, big hug and a witty comeback. My heart breaks to think we won't see him in the rooms. Blessings Stan, till we meet again.

Stanley was a solid man . Kind, appreciatd a good dad joke.   full of trivia about any subject and always ready to share. We will all miss as him. 

I met Stanley way back in the 80's. What a great guy. He was very instrumental in my younger years. He actually just called me the other day and was asking about my daughter and how she was doing. A very selfless man. Stan you will missed.

Stanley is the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He has been a force for good and an angel on earth. While he never once let me win at golf, he did, in-fact, help me become a winner in my life. He was an integral member of my family and for 34 years has been a loving influence on us. Heaven is Blessed by your presence! I love You!!!
